On the move - after being blown over by the wind, our marquee was retrieved and moved to a sheltered spot. Thanks to everyone who helped. |
The second to go was the visitor marquee, where there were tables and chairs for visitors to sit, chat and enjoy their refreshments from the excellent J18 Burger Van.
Fortunately no-one was hurt in either incident, although the visitor marquee itself did sustain some damage. It left the tables and chairs in the open, giving a bistro feel to the area.
The wind had dropped by the Sunday morning and everyone was a lot more comfortable and outside seating was pleasant in the sunny spells.
In the end, the Show had not just 14 boats but 16 on view - the late entries were Little Dawn managed by BCBM and Willow, managed by Carefree Cruising.
Visitor numbers were a little down on previous years, but there was plenty of serious interest in shared ownership, and the management companies reported shares sold and viewings booked. So the first national Boat Share Show at this new venue can definitely be considered a success.
The date for next year's Spring Boat Share Show Show has now been set - it will be back to the corresponding week to previous years - 18th & 19th April 2020.
The date for the Autumn Boat Share Show at Overwater marina has already been fixed as 7th & 8th September 2019. As usual it will run in association with the RNLI Festival.
